History of Computer Games

When the computers were first invented, people thought that they were nothing more then glorified calculators.  Hence, for most people a computer didn’t mean much. However, as time passed, computers became more advanced. Naturally, in the beginning there were simple models like IBM PS/1, Commodore 64 as well as Amiga 500. What started as an arcade rush in the 1980’s then turned in to a full blown computer games age. However, as personal computers became more popular, computer versions of these games became also available on these platforms. Hence, playing games such as Pac Man, Prince of Persia, Space Invaders, Tetrace and Super Mario Brothers became very popular thing to do.

Of course, at the time, games had to be installed from cartridges, cassettes, floppy disks or compact disks. This was usually a difficult prospect and it required a special platform in order to work. However, with the advent of the internet, playing computer games became more easier then ever.
